Welcome back to all of our staff and students! We hope you all had an enjoyable midterm break.
On Wednesday, we were visited by Minister for Education Norma Foley and TD Cormac Devlin. Minister Foley spoke to our whole school community in the concert hall. Afterwards she held a questions and answers session with our students. After meeting with students, Minister Foley was brought on a school tour. We would like to say thank you to Minister Foley and TD Cormac Devlin for visiting us.
Well done to our first-year students who organised a bake sale today. All funds raised will be donated to the Turkey and Syria earthquake appeal.
Today, we did a Drop Everything and Read event as part of Ireland Reads. All students and staff read for 15 minutes from books of their choices. Ms. Curtin, school librarian, also held a pop-up library to facilitate book borrowing and reading awareness as part of this DEAR event. We hope you all enjoyed this reading time!
Congratulations to our first year Under-14 Badminton players who became Dublin Champions this week! Well done to Tifera, Gala, Patricia and Sarah.
Senior history students enjoyed a trip to Belfast this week with Ms. Byrne and Ms. Joy. Students had a chance to visit historical landmarks around Belfast city and visit Stormont. We hope you all enjoyed this trip.

Well done to our Amber Flag Committee who made pancakes on Pancake Tuesday for all of our second year cohort to recognise all of their hard work on their CBAs.
The very best of luck to our three Second Year students, Eimear Keogh, Lilith Fitzgerald and Ciara Fitzpatrick who are representing Cluny at The Irish Federation of University Women Public Speaking Competition on Saturday in Trinity.
Next week we will celebrate World Book Day! On Thursday 02 March, all students are invited to take part in a school-wide dress as a book character day. €2 donations for St. Joseph’s Shankill will also be collected.
Next Friday, our sixth years are looking forward to welcoming you all to Cluny for a coffee morning and book drive, in aid of St. Joseph’s of Shankill.
That is all for this week! Wishing you all a fantastic weekend. And remember, here at Cluny we dream of the days ahead.
